Katsuko Yoneda
A computer scientist turned dermal researcher; she leads the AI-Augmented Practice module across the Master and Elite curricula.
The path to the Maison.
Katsuko Yoneda holds a PhD in computer vision from the University of Tokyo. She spent eight years building dermal-imaging systems at a research institute in Kyoto before returning to academic medicine to study the ways those systems mislead the practitioners who rely on them.
Her position at Maison Academy is unusual: she teaches both how to use the new tools and how to recognize when the tools are wrong. The module she designed for the Master programme is, by reputation, the hardest six weeks of the curriculum.
She splits her time between Tokyo and the Paris atelier and has co-authored seventeen peer-reviewed papers on the limits of algorithmic dermal analysis.
The instrument is the instrument. The judgement is the practitioner's.
